2.3 Communication Port Configuration

If you are using a modem, the port configuration window is provided if you need to enter any special modem

setup strings that may be applicable to your modem (refer to the manual that came with your modem). If you are

using the DKS server for programming, there is a Test Server Connection button that will verify that your

computer will connect to the DoorKing server.

NOTE: Typically, you will not need to make any adjustments to your port configuration, and therefore no changes

need to be made. You should only make adjustments in these settings if you are experiencing problems in

communicating with the entry system.

1. Click the CONFIG PORTS icon in the

tool bar. The port configuration

window will appear (Fig 11).

2. If you are using the DKS server to

send and receive data, click the Test

Server Connection button to insure

your computer can connect to the

server (see image below).

3. If you are using a modem to send and

receive data, make the adjustments to

the port setup as required (refer to

your modem manual) or click the Auto

Detect Port button.

4. Click OK to proceed with the changes

or click CANCEL to return to the

accounts screen without any changes

being made.
